My dog, Rueben, has died.

She was 12 years old, nearly 13, and died at around 4 a.m. Friday, January 28. She was a wonderful dog. She loved to play, and she especially loved to get into mischeif. She was a perpetually happy dog and seemed to always be smiling. She would always greet you with her curlicue tail wagging.

I am distraught and heartbroken beyond words.

I wish I could have been there to say goodbye, but I am thankful that at least she died quickly at home. She lived a long life with owners that loved her as more than just a dog.

She was a lifetime friend, and she will be greatly missed.
